BASIC PRINCIPLES
Chinese classical Feng Shui is a living science that is proven for over 4000 years.
It uses several principles:
The energy Qi
Also called cosmic energy or life force, is the invisible energy that animates all living things and that runs constantly through the earth.
She goes in and out of the houses and in its way it loads positive or negative, depending on the room and the objects encountered in its path, determining the overall feel of the house.
This energy from the external environment or the house has an influence on the mood, health and well-being.
Yin and Yang
Yin is feminine energy, passive, dark, cold. Yang is the male energy, active, clear, warm. The two are always in motion, complementarity and balance.
We will take as an example of liquid water: compared to ice water witch is yin, liquid water will be Yang. But compared to the steam which is Yang, liquid water will be Yin.
This principle of Yin and Yang is used to evaluate and determine the nature of an environment which will be for example dominant yin or yang, or in perfect balance.
The cycle of the 5 elements
The five elements are: Water, Wood, Fire, Earth and Metal.
Each element is associated with particular forms, colors and materials.
For example, water can be represented by the blue or black color, wavy shapes, glassware, mirror, glass or water as such.
Trigrams
The yin and yang are represented by a solid line and an open line respectively.
Three of these overlapping lines form a trigram. It should be read from bottom to top, depending on the three levels (the earth, the human and the sky).
Via the combination of these three lines will get the 8 base trigrams.
